Avery Brooke Allen- Little Avery Bug!

Avery entered the world and our hearts on May 26th, 2009. Just like Paige, I loved her with all my heart from the very first moment I saw her. She is now 4 months old today and I can't imagine my life or our family without her in it. She has such a sweet spirit and is so happy. I call her Smilie:). She is very healthy and loves attention, especially from her Daddy. Today she weighed 15.2 pounds and is 80% in weight- 50% in height and 10% in head size. Ha..She is so beautiful. Not did a great job creating my little bug. I will try to get her belly laugh on tape and post it. It's awsome!!

Life with 2 is much more hectic, that is why I am just now writing this. Even through the sleep deprivation I still feel extremly blessed to get to stay home and be with the girls. Paige is loving being a big sissy too. She is very helpful and is not near as jealous as I anticipated.

Paige is amazing! She is so much fun and never stops talking. I wonder who she gets that from?? Her favorite things to say are Thank you and New one.

It is really cute seeing her turn into a little girl and as you can tell from the slide show she is ALL GIRL! Angel, the dog, gets to wear hats and necklaces and all kinds of pretty things:). Angel is still Paige's favorite person in the world and then Josie of course.

Paige seems to be grasping that she will have a little sister soon. She understands that the bed is Avery's but the room is still Paige's in her eyes:). I know she will be a great big sister. She loves playing with and taking care of her dolls.

She is a true joy and I feel blessed to be her mommy! I hope she always keeps that sweet spirit.

A life in the day of Paige

Paige has been growing up fast these days. She is walking all over the place and crawling on everything. Her favorite thing to do is play outside and she can clearly say Mommy, Daddy, Shoes, Bible, Jesus, No , and many others. Her hair is at a length that I can now put in a hair tie, which I LOVE and she continues to put a smile on our face every day. She did a front roll today by herself with no prompting from mom.

Paige's First Birthday & Dedication

Paige had her 1st birthday this past Saturday at a local park and was dedicated this past Sunday. She had a great time. I would like to thank everyone who has played a role in her life this past year and for supporting Chris and I as new parents. We feel truly blessed to have such awesome friends and family. I know that you all have busy lives and many of you traveled a long way to be a part of this special day. It was neat to have friends as young as 2 weeks old and grandma's and grandpa's all there to be with little Paige. I love how God is always there and knows the perfect people to have enter your lives at the perfect time. The morning of Paige's party I prayed that God would make it overcast but not rain. God listened and graciously answered that prayer. I know this is a little thing but it just reminds me that such a big God cares about the little things too. Lately there has unfortunately been a number of child tragedies and it is a reminder to me how thankful I am for the health of Paige and all of her little friends. We love you all and thank God for you!

I know that everyone wants to see pictures and not read deep thoughts by Katie, but I didn't take any pictures so I will post pics once I receive them from friends.

Hey guys. Sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything. The Allen clan is doing good and it has been a busy time for us and our friends.
What's up:
-Mark and Amity had there baby boy Wyatt. (He is so cute!! I am already planning their wedding)
-JT and Crystal got there baby girl. Paige can't wait to meet her new best friend!
-John and Alania had a baby girl. Yeah!
-Robbie and Erin had a baby boy. He will have his pick- the girl to boy ratio is in his favor:)
-My best friend Pam got married to Lou. She was the most beautiful bride and I got to visit my family and other best friend Sonia. It was a much needed stress free vacation for mommy.
-Flint and Rebekah came to visit. I miss them already.
-Having lots of fun on the lake this year!!
-Trying to keep up with a one year old:) I love staying at home with her. She is such a blessing and I could not imagine missing one smile. I have to say I love my family. Chris rocks.

What's up with Paige:
-Paige turned one last week on July 2nd. Her birthday bash will be this Sat. and dedication this Sunday!! It is definately a special time for us with family comming in town for these events!
-Paige is standing up holding on to things, crawling like a sprinter, eating people food really well, saying "mama, dada, duck, fish, this, and insey (for he aunt Lindsey).
-Paige loves music and dancing. She can sign Jesus , point to herself, call the hogs, wave, blow kisses, Daddy taught her to go crazy and say donk while hitting her head while I was in Florida:).
-We have been to the Auatic center twice and she loves swimming with the kids and going down the slide.
-We tried to paint pottery. Parents please learn from my mistake. Not a good idea to take your one year old kid somewhere where everthing in the place is breakable:)

So as most of you know, I bought Katie a boat! Here are some pics, we are waiting for the stereo to get installed and we should have it next weekend. Anyone want to hit the lake?

Colorado Trip

We just took our first trip with little Paige to Colorado. Both my mom and Chris's mom came to babysit Paige while Chris and I went Snowboarding. That was the plan anyway:) The day before we left, Chris had an IV (thanks Guff) becasue he was so sick. Paige was also sick all week and spent most of Thursday night throwing up. I took her to the Dr. on Friday and he gave me the green light to go ahead on our vacation. To make a long story short - Chris ended up getting his mom sick, Paige was sick most of the trip and had a few sleepless night ; therfore so did Chris and I. We headed off to the mountain anyway to Snowboard with Chris's friend Clay. The snow was awsome and Beaver Creek is by far the best mountain we have snowboarded yet. Clay totally hooked us up while we were there, which was a huge blessing. Our hotel was great! (Thank you Rubby) We all especially enjoyed the hot tub outside overlooking the mountain. The best part of the trip was when Chris filled me in on my "surprise". (See big gift post for more info). Here are a few pics from the trip. Enjoy.

Paige contiues to be the biggest blessing ever. She is now more fun than ever since her personality is starting to shine. She smiles, laughs, and loves to play with all of her toys. She has started doing better in the nursery at the church, but enjoys being a "hall walker":). We have started going to baby bookworms and Paige loves watching all the kids dance around.

She is still a little tator tot comming in at the 25% on height , weight , and length. Perfect size for cheer, dance , and gymnastics:). We will start training soon. JK.

With pressure from our good friends the Lofton's, we were talked into making a blog to keep the world updated on our new gift - baby Paige. She was born on July 2nd, 2007 weighing 6pounds 12 ounces and 19 inches long. Paige has definitely been the best gift ever. I absolutely love being her mommy. Everyone says she looks just like her daddy:). Well we are going to hang out with the Lofton's while there here. I'll add more later!
